The Val d'Anniviers, often described as the most gorgeous valley of the Pennine Alps, between the Matterhorn and Verbier, this valley enjoys the longest ski seasons and best sunshine records in the region.

Probably one of the most picturesque villages of the valley, Ayer, at an altitude of 1540 m, is locatecd in the midst of idyllic alpine surroundings. The village is a few minutes by car from the beautiful ski resorts, shops and restaurants of Zinal, Grimentz, Saint-Luc, Chandolin and Vercorin, at 25 minutes from the city of Sierre and 35 minutes from Sion, the capital of Valais.

The sight in all directions is simply breathtaking : snow covered mountain peaks, wild forests, the villages of Grimentz and Saint-Jean across the valley. Sightings of deer, chamois and raptors occur daily.
